Gozitan ‘giant of love’ Dun Manwel features in new publication
Booklet reflects his open-hearted commitment to restoring dignity to those who needed support and compassion most
Dun Manwel: A Priest Who Lived a Vision of Love is a new publication that offers a heartfelt tribute to Dun Manwel Curmi, written by those who worked closely with him.
The booklet reflects his open-hearted commitment to restoring dignity to those who needed support and compassion most.
Dun Manwel was a quiet and humble priest who never sought personal recognition. He lived out a clear evangelical vision of love, expressed through tireless service to persons with disabilities and to those pushed to the margins of society.
In his message to the booklet, Gozo Bishop Anton Teuma describes Dun Manwel as a “Gozitan giant of love”. Mgr Teuma notes that Dun Manwel succeeded in building and strengthening a chain of solidarity with those in need, transforming what was once stigma and judgement into acts of love and charity.
The booklet features a collection of reflections and a number of photographs documenting Dun Manwel’s life and mission.
It is available from Dar Arka in exchange for a €15 donation. Dun Manwel passed away on October 27, 2024 at the age of 87.
