Representatives of Gozo's band clubs have formed the Gozo Band Clubs Association, electing Joe Mizzi as president and Colin Apap as secretary.

The aim of the association is to promote and encourage musical culture and folklore in Gozo. The association will work to promote the teaching of music by a joint effort between band clubs and the school of music.

The association also aims to foster greater co-operation between the various band clubs and produce solutions in cases of disputes. The association also aims to enter into agreements with other local and international organisations with similar aims.

The band clubs which have joined the association are Leone and La Stella (Victoria); St Joseph (Ghajnsielem); Precursor (Xewkija), Victory (Xaghra), Mnarja (Nadur), St Marija (Zebbug), St Gregory (Kercem), St Margaret (Sannat) and Ite ad Joseph (Qala).
