Gozo Bishop's appeal to priests

Priests should ensure they do their work in full unity with God, Gozo Bishop Nikol Cauchi said during a solemn concelebration to commemorate the setting up of Catholic priesthood on Maundy Thursday.

Maundy Thursday, he said, cannot but instil a sense of gratitude in priests for their call to join Christ in his work to save the people.

Speaking at the Gozo Cathedral, the Bishop invited priests and Christians present to intensify their love for the Eucharist and take a more fervent part in Mass during the coming Eucharistic year.

The holy oils, which are used for the administration of sacraments, were blessed during the ceremony.
