Gozo calls for green ideas under the ‘Climate Funding 4 Cities’ initiative
Up to €3,000 in funding for successful projects that have a direct impact on Gozo's environment
The Gozo Regional Development Authority (GRDA) has launched the ‘Climate Funding 4 Cities – Gozo Idea Competition’, inviting individuals and organisations across the island to put forward innovative ideas that make Gozo greener, more resilient, and climate-ready.
Through this initiative, GRDA is seeking to support small but impactful projects that directly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote sustainable lifestyles, and strengthen community awareness around climate action.
Each selected idea will be eligible for funding of up to €3,000, with additional flexibility for exceptional proposals. Projects will be supported in two stages — 30% upfront funding for planning and setup, followed by 70% upon completion and submission of a final report.
“This competition aims to translate Gozo’s climate ambitions into practical, community-driven action,” a GRDA spokesperson said. “We want to encourage citizens, schools, NGOs, and local groups to think creatively and take ownership of projects that can make a measurable environmental difference in their locality.”
