Gozo hospital extension inaugurated

The Gozo Hospital emergency department has been extended in a Lm40,000 project aimed at offering a more modern and efficient service.

Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono said at the inauguration yesterday that the works consisted in the building of an ambulance bay, a waiting room for patients' relatives, a porters' lodge, toilets for patients and a resuscitation room, and the refurbishment of two clinics.

A patient may now be admitted to hospital without having to be exposed to the elements while being taken out of the car, she said.
