Filming of the video of Julie and Ludwig's Eurovision song, On Again... Off Again, ended yesterday and the reels are today being flown to Cinecittà Studios in Rome to be developed.
Motion Art Film Limited, a film production company based in Malta, was chosen to shoot the video which will be shown during Malta's participation in the preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul.
Company chief executive Jens Klein said the video was shot on super 16mm film in an attempt to better capture the mood and to attain more texture.
Mr Klein will be back from Rome on Thursday and the editing will start in earnest in time for a meeting of head of delegates of participating countries in Istanbul later next week. Discussing the story behind the video, Mr Klein explained that he tried to recreate "loose" situations where for most of the time Julie and Ludwig were together just in their thoughts.
More than 70 per cent of the video was filmed in Gozo, including shots in front of Dwejra's Azure Window.
Maltasong spokesman Nadette Bugeja said the organising committee had also tried to move away from including shots of sponsors in the video, to ensure it remained as professional as possible and maintain the genre of a music video.
Motion Art Film Limited has shot over 30 TV and cinema commercials, music videos and documentaries, and has created several visual FX shots.
