An athletics Gran Gala will be held at the Matthew Micallef St John Track, Marsa, between June 25 and 26. The meet is open to all categories from cadets to veteran age brackets.

Organisers said that MAAA rules will be adopted on the day and the programme will include all events held regularly in aggregate meetings. The association will provide officials.

The main sponsors are TeamSport. The best four male and female performers over the two days of competition will share Lm1,000 worth of sportswear between them.

The Gran Gala meet will coincide with 'World Day Against Drug Addiction and Drug Trafficking'. No fee will be charged but athletes will be asked to give a donation to Caritas Malta.
