Early in the morning on January 24, my father had to go to the emergency department by means of an ambulance. Unfortunately, after several tests he was transferred to the CCU. Late that night we were asked to return to Mater Dei Hospital as our father's condition had deteriorated.
We were briefed by a lady doctor to whom I am grateful for the way she explained the situation to us, especially to our elderly mother, saying that although my father was being taken care of, he was in a critical situation. He eventually passed away a few hours later.
I would like to thank the ambulance people, the doctors at the emergency and the CCU, the nurses and the hospital staff for their support in such a difficult moment.
