There are many books that recount the Great Siege of 1565, but I have to say that the latest one by Stephen C. Spiteri stands out as being the most detailed and well illustrated that I have had the pleasure of reading. It offers an extremely fascinating insight not only of the siege as it evolved but also of the hardship of the Maltese of those days with great attention to detail. Good work Mr Spiteri!
