Businessman Anthony Grech Sant yesterday filed a third request for bail, calling on the Magistrates' Court to grant him a hearing.
Grech Sant, 55, also claimed that he had been accused of crimes - conspiracy and trading in influence - which had not yet been introduced in the Criminal Code at the time of their alleged commission.
Grech Sant has been charged, with Joseph Zammit, 57, Mario Camilleri, 40, and his son Pierre, 20, with trading in influence, aiding and abetting in the bribery of two judges and conspiring to commit a crime. They are pleading not guilty.
Dr Joseph Brincat signed the application.
