Greening project near Ta' Pinu Church in Gozo

The project will see a more pleasing environment for visitors to the church

Some 900 trees and a similar number of shrubs are being planted on Għammar Hill near Ta' Pinu church in Gozo as part of a rehabilitation project that covers an area of 8,467 square metres.

Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri, who visited the site, said some 1,700 metres of rubble wall will also be built and an irrigation system installed as part of measures to improve biodiversity and create a more pleasing environment for those who visit the church.

Camilleri toured the site with Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi, the minister for EU funds, who has allocated EU funds for the purpose.
