The European Greens, from both EU member countries and from applicant states, will be meeting in congress with their leaders at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin, from Friday to Sunday.

The congress organisation is in the hands of Arnold Cassola, secretary general of the European Federation of Green Parties and Alternattiva Demokratika spokesman on EU Affairs.

Around 1,000 participants are expected at the congress, which is the third one of the European Greens following the 1996 Vienna and 1999 Paris congresses.

The 150-strong diplomatic corps in Berlin has been invited to be present at the congress.
