The GRTU has complained that Super 5 'madness' is ruining businesses as the jackpot continues to rise, drawing more spending by punters.
No one guessed all five numbers in yesterday's draw and the jackpot for next week is a minimum of Lm500,000.
The retailers' union said it was never consulted when the government at the stroke of a pen removed limits on the jackpot. The limits had been introduced on the insistence of the GRTU itself.
The union said all businesses were reporting a drop in sales as consumers went on a Super 5 frenzy.
"The consequences of the government's mistaken decision should now be evident to all and the government should intervene." the GRTU said.
