Three men and a woman from Malta were yesterday given a three-year jail term suspended for four years for going on a theft rampage in Gozo in November 1997.

Joseph Mangion, Sandro Degabriele, Albano Grima and Lorraine Grima pleaded guilty to burgling Munxar Mini Market, a villa, a supermarket, a dive shop, some garages and a flat and causing damage in all of them on November 8, 1997.

Degabriele alone was also charged with driving a car while under a ban by a court and thus not being covered by an insurance policy.

Grima, Mangion and Degabriele were also charged with relapsing while Mangion alone was additionally charged with breaching the conditions of a previous release.

Police Inspectors Antonello Grech and Maurice Curmi prosecuted.
