A man has been given a two-year jail term suspended for four years for the violent and indecent assault of a 15-year-old girl last month.

Carmel Mallia pleaded guilty to violent and indecent assault, defiling the girl and offending public morals in Valletta.

Magistrate Miriam Hayman also placed Mallia under the supervision of probation officer Victoria Grech.
