Two men yesterday admitted to stealing a woman's mobile phone on Thursday.

Simon Grech, 19, of Siggiewi, was conditionally discharged for two years while Jeffery Spiteri, 21, of Marsa was given a six-month jail term suspended for a year after Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna heard how Spiteri had a conviction on his criminal record.

The magistrate ordered the men to pay Stefanie Brincat, the owner of the mobile, Lm140 each within six months.

Police Inspector Roland Cassar prosecuted.

Dr Shazoo Ghaznavi appeared for the two men.
