American guitarists Gregory Newton and David Grimes will feature in an American Classical Guitars concert at the Vilhena Palace Courtyard, in Mdina today at 8 p.m.

They are two of the best known American guitarists of today specialising in American guitar music. They will be performing a programme of mixed cultures.

The first part of the programme opens with The Americas to Malta with compositions by Andrew Charlton, John W. Duarte, Gordon Mizzi, Hugh Chandler and Gerardo Tamez.

The second phase will focus on Malta to Africa which includes works by Charles Camilleri, Timothy Walker, Gordon Mizzi and Jack Body.

The concert encompasses various musical genres.

Newton and Grimes have performed extensively in North and South America, the Middle East, Scandinavia and in Western and Eastern Europe.

For those who missed Sunday's concert by the piano duo Aleksandra and Nikoleta Kocheva, the pianists will be performing again at Vilhena Palace Courtyard, Mdina, on Friday at 8 p.m.
