Ġulja Holland to open her studio to the public this week
Her work explores the intricate relationship between humanity and nature
Contemporary artist Ġulja Holland will host her annual open studio event on Saturday, October 25, from 10am to 6pm, inviting visitors into her Naxxar workspace for a behind-the-scenes look at her latest paintings and creative process.
Known for her evocative, surrealist-inspired paintings, Holland’s work explores the intricate relationship between humanity and nature, touching on themes of identity, ecological change and the emotional landscape of the Anthropocene.
Since graduating from the Royal College of Art in London, Holland has exhibited internationally – including at the Saatchi Gallery, Blue Shop Cottage and Cromwell Place (London), PADA Studios (Portugal) and EY Projects (Shanghai), establishing herself as one of Malta’s most distinctive and conceptually driven contemporary painters.
The open studio offers collectors, art enthusiasts and the curious alike a rare opportunity to connect with the artist, experience an informal studio tour, and view new and in-progress works in an intimate setting. Guests attending the event will also enjoy a 10 per cent discount on available works throughout the day.
Holland’s studio is located at 5, Alley 1, St Lucy Street, Naxxar. The event is supported by Philippe Martinet Fine Wines, who will be offering a curated selection of wines during the viewing.
