The General Workers’ Union has declared an industrial dispute with Enemalta after two workers were suspended in what the union said was a breach of the collective agreement.

The union said it would consider action to protect its rights.

It explained that Enemalta wanted to transfer two workers without giving them a reason.

The Director of Employment and Industrial Relations has been informed.

The union said that Enemalta’s aim was to create a direct conflict with the GWU because of its issue regarding the water and electricity rates.
