The General Workers' Union's school of music has been appointed sole representative of the National College of Music London, the school said.
The college was founded in 1894 and offers examinations in all grades and diploma levels in both practical and theoretical subjects.
The National College of Music qualifications and syllabuses have been approved by the Secretary of State and by the School Curriculum and Assessment Authority under Section 5 of the Education Reform Act 1988.
Together with examinations for certificates and diplomas, the National College of Music London also offers examinations for gold, silver and bronze medals in all subjects.
Prize awards are made to outstanding candidates in appropriate circumstances.
A cumulative silver medal is awarded to all candidates who pass with aggregate markings each grade examination from four to eight inclusive.
Various initiatives are offered by the college, including reasonable examination fees, scholarships for the most successful candidates and total fairness in all examinations. Three examiners - one British and two Maltese - will conduct examinations from Grade 8 (final) upwards.
Interested students and teachers can obtain the syllabuses and all information from the Director, the GWU School of Music, at the Workers' Memorial Building, South Street, Valletta.
There will be two sessions each year - July and December - starting from December this year.
