The General Workers' Union has withdrawn its industrial action at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, in Valletta.

The GWU said the action was lifted after the management withdrew promotions it had given to employees behind the union's back.

Industrial relations director Frank Pullicino is expected to convey a conciliation meeting this morning.

The GWU expressed its appreciation to Island Hotels Group managing director Winston Zahra, whose intervention led to the lifting of the action.
