Club president Joseph Portelli meets fans, promises to lead the team to another historic campaign next season

Over 400 Ħamrun Spartans fans invaded the heart of Dublin on Thursday as they prepared to watch their team in the final UEFA Conference League clash against Shamrock Rovers at the Tallaght Stadium.

The Spartans are bidding to end their historic European campaign in the best possible way, with victory over the Irish champions to not only move up the standings but also gain further financial benefits.

If Ħamrun Spartans beat Shamrock Rovers on Thursday, they will receive over €400,000 that will see their total income from this year’s European adventure break the €5 million threshold, an unprecedented amount of revenue for a Maltese club competing in UEFA club competitions.

Club president Joseph Portelli and the club’s top hierarchy went to meet the Ħamrun Spartans supporters hours before kick-off, and whilst thanking them for their constant support, he promised them that he would try to lead the team to another memorable campaign next season.
