Ħamrun Spartans project manager to pay architect €17.7k: court
Mario Camilleri engaged an architecture firm to prepare plans for the proposed stadium that never materialised
The project manager of Ħamrun Spartans was ordered to pay an architecture firm €17,700 for work carried out on plans for a new stadium that never materialised.
Architecture 360 Limited filed a court case after it was not paid for services commissioned by Mario Camilleri.
In 2019, Camilleri was appointed as project manager by Ħamrun Spartans to find investors and oversee the construction of a new stadium.
He engaged the architecture firm to prepare plans for the proposed stadium. The work included several meetings, site and regulatory studies, design, 3D modelling, rendering, and other related services.
When the firm requested payment, Camilleri told them they would be paid once an investor was identified.
However, this never happened, prompting the firm to file a case in 2023 requesting the court to order payment.
In a judgment delivered by Judge Audrey Demicoli in the First Hall of the Civil Court, the court upheld the firm’s request and ordered Camilleri to pay the amount due.
