The Malta Standards Authority said today that three childcare and play articles by Fisher-Price were being voluntarily recalled by the importer due to the possible risk of injury. The products are Fisher-Price Trikes, Healthy Care High Chairs and infant toys that have inflatable balls.

No incidents involving these products have been reported in Malta, but the Authority said it had been informed about incidents abroad.

The local agent is issuing free replacement and free repair kits to whoever bought these products.

The trikes are Kawasaki Ninja Tough Trikes. It hasbeen found that a child can strike, sit or fall on the protruding plastic ignition key, which can result in injury.

With regard to the Healthy Care High Chairs, the MSA said that children passing behind the high chair can fall on or against the pegs on the rear legs, which can result in injuries or lacerations. The pegs are used for high chair tray storage.

The MSA said the infant toys with inflatable balls which were found to be hazardous were Bat & Score Goal, Ocean Wonders Kick and Crawl Aquarium. Crawl and Cruise Playground. The valve of the inflatable ball can come off – posing a choking hazard.
