In Malta, Peugeot is adding further versions to its 307, 406 and 607 model ranges, offering HDi diesel engines equipped with a particulate filter (FAP).

As the leading imported marque on the Maltese market that accounted for almost 12,000 units in 2001, as well as the market leader for diesel-powered vehicles, Peugeot is providing an effective solution in terms of environmental protection where diesel power accounts for almost 80 per cent of vehicle registrations, the company said in a statement.

Peugeot which has been present on the Maltese market since 1949, last year reinforced its position as the car market leader by selling 2,000 models, representing around 17 per cent of a market estimated as being 11,000 units for the year.

Peugeot is represented in Malta by Michael Attard Ltd of Blata l-Bajda.
