Health authorities lift swimming ban at Fond Għadir

Popular Sliema bathing spot had been contaminated with stormwater

The Health authorities on Friday lifted a swimming ban at the popular Fond Għadir area in Sliema.

In a statement, the Environmental Health Directorate said that repeated sea water samples tested over the past few days showed that the water was safe for swimming again.

Fond Għadir was closed for swimming on June 20 after the directorate had found the sea had been contaminated with discharge from a stormwater culvert.
