Between 2008 and 2009 there were 12 and 71 health risk assessments carried out on kiosks by officials of the Department of Environmental Health, Health Minister Joseph Cassar said in Parliament on Wednesday.

He was answering a question by Evarist Bartolo (PL). The assessments had been carried out in Mellieħa, St Paul's Bay, Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, St Julians, Sliema and Gżira. The department had issued 83 improvement notices and taken legal steps against 14 kiosks.
