According to a report on this newspaper (‘Government’s new airline “worries” Air Malta staff’, March 21), there are plans “to introduce” a helicopter service between Malta and Gozo.

The term “introduce” certainly implies that this will be a novel or unique concept or service when this is certainly not the case.

A helicopter service linking the islands previously existed, though not operated by MedAir. Therefore, to claim that such a service may be “introduced” is not accurate.

Would it be pedantic to state that it would be more accurate to say that such a service is planned to be reintroduced and confirm that a helicopter link had already been in place previously, albeit some years ago?
