Din l-Art Helwa will hold its next "cultural roadshow" at the Zejtun local council on June 23 at 6.30 p.m.

The event will highlight the cultural legacy of this ancient village in particular on the occasion of the 17th centenary of the martyrdom of St Catherine, patron saint of Zejtun.

The Din l-Art Helwa presentation team, made up by John Sare', Victor Rizzo, Cynthia De Giorgio and Joe Chetcuti, will be focusing on artists and architects whose work has contributed much to Zejtun's rich artistic and architectural heritage.

The presentation will focus on Lorenzo Gafa and his baroque church of St Catherine, Vincenzo Hyzler and his masterpiece of the painting of St Andrew, Francesco Zahra's apside of the Institution of the Rosary and Gian Nikol Buhagiar's Adoration of the Dead Christ.

Small village churches, many of which go back to well before Mgr Dusina's arrival in Malta in the mid-15th century will be featured, in particular Il-knisja tas-sindku, Il-knisja tas-sinjura, Il-knisja tal-hlas and Il-knisja tal-pietatis.

The presentation will also illustrate the work of Din l-Art Helwa in the 40 years since its foundation in 1965 as well as the history and restoration of the properties this association holds in guardianship.

It will also discuss current environmental issues.
