Hibernians have lodged a protest against the result of the Premier League match against Birkirkara, played last weekend at the National Stadium.

On Sunday, the Stripes beat Hibernians 2-1 to hand the league title to Valletta who have a four-point lead over the Paolites with one match to play.

But Hibernians are challenging the result of the match as they contest that some of the foreigners players in the Birkirkara squad were not registered with the country’s employment bodies.

No date has been set on when the protest will be heard.
