Hibernians' promising Nigerian youngster Udo Chukwu Nwoko is to get a taste of senior football in the Champions League qualifying round match against Irish side Shelbourne.

The Times has learnt that the Malta champions are planning to include the highly-rated Nigerian forward in their official squad for the Champions League adventure.

Nwoko has been playing for the Hibernians' junior teams for the past few years. Hibs host Shelbourne at Ta' Qali on July 17 with the return leg a week later in Ireland.

Under-21 Malta defender Lee Lombardi is also a target for the champions but the St Andrew's player is also courting interest from Pietà, now coached by Ray 'Zazu' Farrugia.
