Sudanese women applauding as fellow Darfurians performed a traditional dance yesterday during the opening of an international envoys conference to resolve the Darfur crisis in Nyala in the south of the war-torn Sudanese region. At least 300,000 people have been killed in Darfur since non-Arab rebels first rose up against the Arab-dominated Khartoum regime in 2003, according to the UN, while the government puts the death toll at 10,000.
