Hilton Malta has been awarded the prestigious TUI Holly award 2002. The Holly awards are considered to be the Oscars of the tourism industry and winners are selected by the holiday makers of TUI, the largest international tour operator.
TUI's customers vote for the best 100 hotels worldwide, out of 10,000 featured in TUI's 28 brands, on the basis of accommodation, catering, service and customer satisfaction in TUI's questionnaires.
The ninth edition of the TUI Holly awards was held in Hamburg last week. Hilton Malta is the only hotel on the island and the second Hilton hotel worldwide to receive this award.
TUI forms part of the TUI AG Group, which includes tour operators, travel agencies, airlines, incoming agencies and hotels. This year about 22 million customers from 15 European countries chose a holiday with the World of TUI master brand. Since Hilton Malta opened its doors in March 2000, it has welcomed thousands of TUI customers.
Hilton Malta said its management and team members were overwhelmed with this success.
"Notwithstanding our daily efforts to deliver best quality service to our demanding customers, we never expected to receive such an accolade from our clientele after such a short period in operation," sales and marketing director Mario de Celis said.
"This award is proof that 'going that extra mile' is rewarding. We are flattered and obviously proud of having achieved such an award. This is also an achievement for Malta as a tourist destination."
