The Malta Historical Society is again organising a series of talks in different venues around Malta and Gozo.

The lectures will be held in Maltese (except one) on the last Monday of the month at 6 p.m., starting tomorrow at the 12th May Band Club in Zebbug. Eric Bonanno will speak on "Children's upbringing in the past at Zebbug".

The other lectures in the series are:

January 26, at the Sala Madonna tal-Karmnu (next to the Sanctuary of St Therese of Lisieux), Birkirkara. Winston L. Zammit will give a lecture on Birkirkara in the 19th century.

February 23, at the Annunciation Band Club, Tarxien, Charles Dalli will talk on Tarxien in the Middle Ages.

March 29, at the Vittoriosa council hall, Joseph Muscat will speak on Vittoriosa and its Marina.

April 26, at the old parish church of Lija, Fr Joseph Fenech will deal with the history of the old church of the Saviour.

May 31, at San Mattew tal-Maqluba church, Qrendi, Dr Andy Welsh will deliver a talk on Qrendi and its chapels (in English).

June 28, at the hall of St George's Basilica, Victoria, Gozo, Notary Eugene Montanaro will discuss Francesco de Cordova: governor and benefactor of Gozo.
