(Adds cash haul, treatment for shock)

Two armed and hooded men escaped with less than €2,000 in cash during a hold-up at Maypole Bakery in Qawra this evening (Saturday).

The hold-up took place at about 8.20 p.m.

One of the men fired a shot but no one was injured. Four employees and two clients were inside the bakery at the time. Some were treated for shock.

The men escaped in a stolen Opel which was later found by the police

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli is holding an inquiry.
