About Lm400 were stolen in a hold-up at a showroom in Pietà yesterday, the latest in a spate of armed robberies.

The police said two hooded men armed with a pistol walked into the former Gasan car showroom in Marina Street, currently being used for a warehouse sale of Terranova clothes, and demanded money from the salesgirls.

No one was hurt.

Last Wednesday, robbers held up lotto receivers in Paola and Kalkara in two separate incidents. A man was shot in the arm by the escaping thieves in the Paola incident.

Also on Wednesday, a woman was held up at Zebbug for a paltry Lm6.
