Holy Trinity feast back on the calendar

The feast of the Holy Trinity in Marsa will be celebrated this June following an agreement reached between the Church authorities and the society involved in the external celebrations.

The feast has been celebrated erratically over the past four years. It was cancelled last year owing to disagreement between the parish priest and the committee in charge of the external celebrations and was removed from the calendar of feasts on the order of the Curia in 2001.

The Curia said in a statement yesterday that the agreement was possible after good will was shown by the parties concerned and an accord was reached on a good number of points.

The Church authorities looked forward to a greater sense of responsibility so that all the difficulties that might crop up during the external festivities would be overcome.

They expressed their conviction that the members of the parish will celebrate the feast in a Christian spirit and prayed that there will be peace and unity among them.
