Last Sunday we featured a case submitted by Joseph B. Urry, who commissioned David Isaac of 7, Karin Court, Tourist Street, Bugibba, to do some work on the façade of his ground floor tenement. This case dates to last August. Indeed, we have been trying hard to establish a dialogue with Mr Isaac since.
Mr Urry paid Mr Isaac Lm85 and Lm50 in advance for material to be used. Unfortunately, since then, Mr Urry is still left with a half-finished façade. Mr Urry phoned Mr Isaac and talked to him on several occasions. On the other hand, Mr Isaac used to promise that he would call on Mr Urry; however, he never honoured his promises.
What makes matters worse in this case is that Mr Isaac chose to adopt a totally non-communicative stance with us. Indeed, the letters we (Mr Urry and I) sent him were sent back to us unopened.
Therefore, in the prevailing scenario, we have no other option but to communicate with Mr Isaac publicly through this column. Indeed, it is our only avenue. Therefore, from now on, we will refer to this case regularly in this column until Mr Isaac communicates with us. In any case, it is very important for consumers to know what they can expect, or rather, what they cannot expect from Mr Isaac.
I appeal to Mr Isaac to honour the commitment he made to Mr Urry. We look forward to hearing from Mr Isaac.
