Malta joined the rest of the world in holding a Hospices in Harmony concert, aimed at raising awareness about support services offered by hospice movements to people suffering from terminal disease and their families.

Some 500 such concerts were held in 42 countries. In Malta, the concert was held at the Sir Temi Zammit auditorium of the university under the patronage of the First Lady, Violet de Marco, patron of the local Hospice Movement.

The performers were the Alegria Dance Company, the Santa Monica Choir, singers Georgina and the duo Ludwig Galea and Julie Zahra and the youth band of the Sliema Philharmonic Society.
