Minister Giovanna Debono on Wednesday inaugurated an extension of Gozo General Hospital's Emergency Department. The project is estimated to have cost Lm40,000.

The project included the building of an ambulance bay, a waiting room, a porters' lodge, a resuscitation room and the refurbishment of two clinics, among others.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mrs Debono said: "The services offered at Gozo General Hospital are a priority of the Ministry."

Hospital superintendent Dr Anthony Livori, Gozo Health Council chairman Professor Maurice N. Cauchi, medical consultants and Emergency Department staff attended the inauguration.
