The majority of the workers at the Howard Johnson Diplomat Hotel, in Sliema, have joined the food and hospitality section of the General Workers' Union, the union said.

The union has now asked the hotel's management for an introductory meeting with a view to starting talks on a collective agreement.

It is also calling a meeting for the employees to enable them to air their grievances and make their proposals aimed at improving their working conditions.
