The House of Representatives yesterday expressed its condolences to the family of former Labour MP Evelyn Bonaci, who died last month, aged 92.

Leader of the House Tonio Borg and Leader of the Opposition Joseph Muscat spoke highly of the humane nature of Mrs Bonaci, who, they said, used to help constituents of whatever political colour. Dr Muscat urged the Birkirkara local council to honour the late MP by erecting a monument to her memory.

Deputy Speaker Carmelo Abela joined both sides of the House in expressing sympathy.
