Maltese parliamentarians, having secured for themselves the best local occupational pension going (in spite of current pensions law prohibiting occupational pensions for post-1979 employment), now wish to secure for themselves the former Royal Opera House site. Someone once claimed that politicians were best at sitting on the fence with their ear to the ground, spending someone else's money - perhaps not too far off the mark.
If you believe slogans like "Malta first and foremost", "taxation and welfare system for social justice", banded about since the 1950s, you'll believe any hypocrite's lie. Perhaps the least you could do for Malta on this issue is to sign the online petition (see above).
