HSBC Bank Malta has presented awards to its branches in St Venera and Hamrun after they came out on top in the bank's first customer service surveys in 2005. An award was also presented for the best area, which went to Birkirkara. The awards were presented to the respective branch managers and area director by HSBC chief operating officer Martin J. Wilkins.

Each quarter, HSBC presents customer service awards to the best branches and area. These awards, which are based solely on feedback from HSBC customers, are divided into two categories, depending on the size and volume of business carried out at the particular branch.

These awards continue to emphasise the great importance placed by HSBC on providing consistently high levels of service to its customers in line with its philosophy as the world's local bank.
