HSBC branch opened in Naxxar

HSBC Bank Malta has opened a new branch in Naxxar, bringing the total number of branches and agencies in Malta and Gozo to 38.

The new branch, which will provide customers with a full range of personal financial services as well as automated services, is located in Victory Square, just across from the parish church. It was opened by HSBC chief executive officer Shaun Wallis and Naxxar mayor Maria Deguara.

"Improving customer service is essential. I am delighted that this new branch is in the heart of Naxxar. These premises can be accessed not only by the 11,000 residents of this town but also by those who live in the nearby localities.

"The new Naxxar branch staff will assist customers with their financial planning needs while customers will be able to carry out their normal transactions through a range of automated services including ATM, deposit machine, internet banking and telephone links with our call centre and share shop," Mr Wallis said.

HSBC's sales and service branch manager in Naxxar, Gordon Scicluna said the response so far from both residents and those who work in the area was very encouraging. He said the team was determined to make Naxxar branch a success by providing the very best service possible.

"Together we are looking forward to getting to know the people here in Naxxar and to providing them with the personal financial services they need," he said.

Over the past three years HSBC invested in excess of Lm10 million on a branch refurbishment programme. Through the programme, all branches in Malta and Gozo are being brought up to HSBC Group standards, both in terms of comfort for customers and employees, accessibility for disabled persons and also safety for customers and staff. With the refurbishment programme now in its final stages, HSBC has begun a process of providing an improved service to customers who, in the past, did not have easy access to a branch or ATM.

"The opening of HSBC's Naxxar branch is another important step in the bank's efforts to ensure that customers have easy and convenient access to their local bank. Our aim is to place the customer at the very centre of what we do," HSBC Mosta area director, Richard Mercieca said.
