Some 65 refugees, 40 of whom were children, were treated to a party at the Good Shepherd Home in Balzan, organised by the HSBC Cares for Children Fund (HCCF), in coordination with the Emigrants’ Commission.
“Seeing these children, and their parents, all smiles as they are entertained fills your heart with joy,” said Shaun Wallis, CEO of HSBC Malta. “It is indeed a privilege for the HSBC Cares for Children Fund to work with the Emigrants’ Commission who does a sterling job in giving these people a second chance to have a better life.”
Since its setting up in 2000, HCCF has contributed over €1 million to assist children in need. The Emigrants’ Commission runs 14 homes in seven localities, providing residing refugees with opportunities to lead a dignified life.
