Investors in search of regular income who do not either have the expertise to assess the quality of individual bonds or have large enough capital to diversify across a range of holdings can now consider a new HSBC product, the International Bond Fund.
HSBC Fund Management (Malta) Limited has launched the fund within the HSBC Malta Funds SICAV plc.
The International Bond Fund will give investors the opportunity to invest indirectly in such investments on a diversified basis. Investors will also benefit from the expertise in international investment management within the HSBC Group.
The fund has other innovative, interesting features. Clients can choose to automatically receive any annual profits or withdraw 6% of their investment annually.
Joe Camilleri, director at HSBC Fund Management (Malta) Limited, said: "The International Bond Fund could be the ideal solution for potential investors looking for some form of annual income from their investment.
Another interesting feature is that the fund`s unit price will be calculated daily in Maltese liri as well as in sterling. "At the time of making the first investment in the International Bond Fund, one will be given the choice of investing with either Maltese Liri or Sterling" Mr Camilleri said. "This will enable investors to follow the value of their investment in either of these two currencies," he added.
HSBC Fund Management (Malta) are offering bonus shares on investments made into the fund before June 10. Applications received up to May 24 will be awarded 0.50% extra shares, while applications received up to June 10 will receive an extra share award of 0.30%.
Investors in any of the funds managed by HSBC Fund Management (Malta) are eligible to an additional 0.50% extra shares.
"Potential investors may visit any HSBC branch in Malta and Gozo or call HSBC`s customer helpline 0800 774444," concluded Mr Camilleri.
