HSBC Bank Malta has announced that its Quikcash ATM card has gone global. All HSBC Bank Malta customers can now use their Quikcash Card to withdraw funds from their savings or current account from countries where HSBC and other bank ATMs are hosted on the GATS (Global ATM Switch) network, to which most HSBC Group members are connected.
This new initiative gives HSBC Malta customers access to withdraw money from their current or savings account from some 14,000 ATMs in 31 countries. These include countries frequently visited by Maltese, such as the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and also the United States, where withdrawals can be made over both HSBC and Wells Fargo Bank ATMs. The system also gives HSBC customers access to ATMs in HSBC banks in Asia and the Middle East.
"HSBC annually invests heavily in the latest technology to be able to offer its customers unique cutting edge services," HSBC Bank Malta chief executive officer Shaun Wallis said.
"In addition to the range of services already offered to HSBC Malta customers when abroad, including credit cards, foreign exchange services and travellers' cheques, customers can now also carry their Quikcash card, when travelling to any country included in the GATS network, and use it to withdraw money from their current and savings accounts just like they do at home.
"This initiative clearly demonstrates the advantages of being part of one of the world's largest banking networks, and the benefits this brings to our customers in Malta - a clear example of the world's local bank at work."
