HSBC was yesterday confirmed as the main sponsor of the Youth Under-19 League and Knock-Out competitions as well as the Women's League and KO for the current season.
The one-year agreement was signed at the MFA technical centre in Ta' Qali yesterday by James Bonello, HSBC Bank Malta's head of commercial banking and Dr Joe Mifsud, president of the Malta FA.
While reiterating the association's commitment towards the development of youth and women's football, Mifsud said that Malta will be represented by its national women's team in international competitions endorsed by UEFA as from next year.
"Women's football has come a long way in recent years. In acknowledging its importance, the Malta FA has been working hard to enhance its popularity among women because that would also befit the game in general," Mifsud remarked.
"HSBC has a long-standing commitment to youth and women's football in Malta and it is delighted that this relationship is being renewed for another season," Bonello said.
