HSBC Bank Malta plc, main sponsors of KSU (Kunsill Studenti Universitarji), has taken centre stage at Freshers Week marking the opening of a new academic year at the University of Malta. Students are being offered a range of specifically designed services and a chance to win some fantastic prizes. Students opening an HSBC Student Services Account will benefit from a higher interest rate on their savings or current account. University students opting for a current account will be granted an automatic interest free overdraft of Lm450. They may also take advantage of a Discounted Flexicredit loan of up to Lm 1,500, carrying an interest rate of only four per cent. This loan can be used for study-related purposes or to make any other purchase, such as a car.
All account holders will also benefit from a free Quikcash card, free direct banking, free standing orders, free local drafts, free foreign exchange services, interest free overdraft, discounted Flexicredit and a fee-free credit card.
All those who open a Youth or Student Services Account will also an I Bank PDA, receive a Lm100 savings voucher from on-vol cable Internet and a Go Mobile start up pack including one year's subsidised mobile telephony on Go Mobile's ready-to-go tariff. HSBC is also organising a competition for all new Youth or Student Services Account holders in which the first prize is a Hyper PC computer system. Other prizes include three Samsung sound systems and 3 Sagem MYX5 mobile phones.
